In 1967, a Masai tribesman discovered a cluster of highly transparent, intense violet-to-blue crystals weathering out of the ground in Merelani, Tanzania, according to the most common story of the tanzanite mining boom. Manuel d’Souza, a local fortune hunter, was notified, and four mining claims were quickly registered.

Care & cleaning
December gemstone is delicate. However, it is durable enough to withstand accidental falls or knocks; but it is always advisable to take precautions to avoid damage. If you intend to engage in physical activity, it is best to remove your jewelry and store it safely. Because tanzanites are relatively softer stones, they are easily broken and must be stored apart from other harder gems or gems and jewelry that can dent, scrape, or damage. It is recommended that you clean your jewelry pieces with warm, soapy water, as it is a safe option. Followed by wiping your jewelry with a clean, soft cloth.
